Who has not heard about the mystical, magical Machu Picchu, the most famous of Inca temples in the world? It firmly put Peru on the map and rightly so. Of course the magic just starts here… we also have the Nazca lines, Saqsayhuaman – a walled Inca treasure, Ollantaytambo and the ancient city of Chan Chan.
Peru has many natural places of beauty, such as Lake Titicaca, the lake on top of the world which we share with Bolivia, the majestic Andes mountains and the amazing Amazon Rainforest. Our capital, Lima, is also known as the city of kings. Very close to the sea, today Lima is a Unesco Heritage site, because of its many colonial buildings in the center.
Our country lends itself well for action packed activities, you can go rafting, biking, skiing, paragliding, exploring the amazing Amazon jungle and our food is wonderful – you must taste our Ceviche, which is one of the nicest dishes you can eat.
Picnic at Huaypo Lagoon – a private picnic at Huaypo lagoon
Rafting at Urubamba river; It has some exciting white water depending on the section of the river being done and the time of the year.
ATV in Sacred Valley; explore the natural beauties of Sacred Valley from the seat of an off-road vehicle, ATVs allow access to places where just a few can go.
CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – CUSCO
We will have a wonderful day spending time in the Sacred Valley’s collection of small towns and archaeological sites offers both a glimpse into daily Peruvian life as well as a full picture of the accomplishments and operation of the once-glorious Inca Empire.
o Chinchero weavers center:
A place which is famous for the extraordinary beauty and quality of its textiles, where local people dress in traditional colorful outfits and travel down from their villages to trade their goods. Archeological site is still standing with beautiful stonewall in the main plaza and the agricultural terraces which are still in use too. There is also a colonial church from the early 17th century, which was built upon the foundation of an Inca temple or palace.
The weavers are working to improve their quality of life while re-instituting millennia old practices integral to their cultural history and identity. By promoting the sale of textiles and encouraging the younger generations to weave; they reach the goal of making them feel proud about their heritage, traditions and themselves.
o Moray Terraces:
Archaeological Inca Complex is located about 7km away from Maras town (3300m) and 35 km from Cusco. Those are enormous natural depressions or hollows in the ground surface that Incas used for constructing irrigated farming terraces around them. Archaeology dominated this place like “Agricultural Laboratory”.
• Maras Salt Mine:
It is located near of Maras town surrounded by huge snowpeaks named “La Veronica” (5682m) and “Chicon” (5530m). This place as know saltpans of salineras of the sacred valley of the Incas.
Maras-Salineras great attraction are the thousands of evaporation salt flats that form an enormous salt mine, the process of production last from Inca time.

Being my grandfather and father pioneers in incoming tourism to Peru, I was exposed to the industry since I was born. Already by age 13, my brothers and myself began working during summers at Coltur and making early travels throughout the country looking for new product with my dad.
After a sabbatical year backpacking around the world, by 22 I was already working full time in the family business while finishing university.
Making my way up to Managing Director at 32, I worked as escort, operations, sales and customer service. Up until today, myself and the top management at Coltur are deeply involved in product development, sales and operations, making sure we are permanently updated and in close relation with our clients.
