The wind mills where used for several activities. The first mill dates from the year 1180. The water mill regulates the water level in the polder. This was and is still very important  because the Netherlands lies below sea level. Also there are mills for grain, saw and oil. You will find the mills in the neighborhood of the water what made the transport of the goods possible. The point of the sails of the mill have an meaning when they are not operating. From an happy occasion till not working for a longer time. The most mills are private homes nowadays, but some of them are still in active service. 

I have been involved in the tourism industry since 1999. I joined DMC Amsterdam in the year of 2014. I joined Rogier to realise our main goal “to become Athe very best DMC in The Netherlands” and my team and I work every day hard every day to make this happen.
