Zimbabwe is slowly on the rebound. This is actually the perfect time to explore this amazingly beautiful African country and receive the warmest welcome by the friendliest people in the world who are proud to show you just how special their country is. You can still see colonial touches, like in the Victoria Falls Hotel more than 100 years old.
Zimbabwe has stunning parks, like Mana Pools National Park, where the lions and elephants dwell near the Zambezi river and Hwange park, which has one of the largest elephant population in the world, where you can walk on the avenue of elephants yourself.
Of course, we also have the most amazing waterfalls in the world – Victoria Falls, where you can walk for hours to treat yourself to the most amazing vistas. Another perfect safari location is Lake Kariba, which is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world and has its own unique flora and fauna. On the shores you will also find the Matusadonha National Park.
At Cansaf DMC Zimbabwe, we can help you make the most of your event, group travel or incentive to Zimbabwe.
Fantastic Zimbabwe bush dinner – great event
What is nicer than going together on a water safari with your fellow participants.
Guided Tour of the Falls / Canopy Tours
The Vic Falls Canopy Tours offers a network of slides, trails and rope bridge walkways within the canopy of the hardwood forest of the Zambezi gorges. This exciting and scenic activity offers amazing views of the turbulent rapids, the Victoria Falls Bridge and spray of the Falls.
This unique experience is suitable to adventure seekers of all ages including families and groups. Observe the riverline forest from a variety of different vantage points – from above, below and within the canopy itself. Experience forest birdlife, which can include the Knysna and Purple crested Turaco (Lourie) and Peregrine Falcons.
Friendly and experienced staff will give guests a detailed safety briefing before the canopy tour, taking them step by step through their adventure. There are two guides on each tour. The activity duration is 2 to 2.5 hours.
Sunset Steamtrain Bridge Visit
You will be transferred to the Victoria Falls Station where the Vic Falls Steam Train will be waiting. You will be greeted as royalty with a glass of chilled fruit juice as you walk up the red carpet.
This is reminiscent of the history of this experience as we follow in the footsteps of Kings and Queens who used this method of transport. The train is a beautifully restored 1922 class 12 steam locomotive, and passengers are attended to by fully liveried waiters in keeping with the colonial theme. This is an old-fashioned steam train journey to the impressive Victoria Falls Bridge, an historical landmark that was completed in 1905.
Sitting in the comfort of the lounge car during your short journey to the bridge, enjoy sundowners and snacks served by the ever-attentive waiters. Stop on the bridge for a chilled glass of sparkling wine whilst viewing the majestic Victoria Falls with its breathtaking, picturesque gorge and the turbulent Zambezi River 110m below. This provides ideal photographic opportunities. After the sunset, the slow and luxurious steam journey will take you back to the Station.
Dinner at The Big Tree
Darkness around large fires and lighted torches create the incredible African ambience. Lozi Dancers with their songs, drums and traditional dancers wait to greet the delegates as they arrive and take in the incredible ambiance. The very nature of dining out in the open air next to the Mighty Zambezi River with wild country surrounds and the firelight brings out the basic human in all of us.
With this and the elements added to age-old customs of the tribal dancers, the melody of their ancestral songs, the ancient beat of the African drums, and you have a potpourri of African magic in the palm of Mother Nature. Tasty and tantalising cuisine, cool beverages and excellent service, make up the rest of what is regarded as the ultimate in the Bush dinner experience.
