Incentive Madeira

Incentive Madeira – a wonderful place accessible only since 1998!

Incentive Madeira

Madeira, also known as ‘’the pearl of the Atlantic’’, offers its visitors the permanent mildness of its climate, the enchantment of its semi-tropical vegetation which turns the island into a true flowered garden, and the variety and beauty of its landscapes which spread into huge panoramas.

Departure from the Hotel in Funchal on 4×4 jeeps towards Estreito de Câmara de Lobos where, before the off road track, there will be a short stop so that the participants may appreciate for the great views over the bay of Câmara de Lobos and the “Levada do Norte” that crosses the valley carrying the water to irrigate the land.

Then, for about 1h30 we will enjoy great views over the mountains and the valleys with the picturesque cultivated terraces, and sense the different fragrances of the forest.

Afterwards, the jeeps will leave the guests at the belvedere that overlooks Fajã dos Padres. Until 1998, the only real access to the Fajã dos Padres was by sea, now there is a modern glass lift in operation.

Incentive Madeira

“Fajã” means a landfall at the base of a cliff forming a beach-like landing and “Padres” means Priests; a land plantation belonging to priests. Previously, a home to the clergy, it’s now a wonderful wine farm at the foot of a breathtaking cliff of 350 meters.

This plantation has a unique quaint restaurant, and wonderful swimming facilities with warm showers, and so on.

Before lunch, you can just lie down and take your time, or you may go on a walk around the property.

Lunch will be served at the local restaurant.

15h00 /
/ 15h30 A boat will pick the Group up for a trip along the coast, who knows if the dolphins won’t show up and keep them company…

Arrival at the Marina of Funchal and transfer by coach to the Hotel.

About Madeira

Madeira rose out of the Atlantic in the tertiary era, during a volcanic eruption. The crater of Curral das Freiras, the various lakes and crater chimneys, among other things, attest this origin. The relief has later been modified by the erosion, giving way to the landscapes one enjoys today.

Incentive Madeira – perfect for groups:
The discovery of Madeira marks the first stage of the Great Discoveries of Portugal. In 1419, an expedition organised by Henry the Navigator boards the island of Porto Santo, then Madeira, which appeared to them as being deserted and covered with forests: they named it « a Ilha da Madeira », meaning the island of woods, and came back the next year, in charge of its colonisation and population.
